We can imagine how the companions of the Prophet were scared from Umar bin Khattab as we can see the great companion like Imran bin Husain said if I get better and live life conceal this truth that Umar bin Khattab practiced this thing against Allah's law.

Our Sunni fellows say the companions were not used to hide any truth. But the reality is very different which we can see in above narration how people did not want to have trouble with those Caliphs who performed against Allah and his Prophet.
