Prophet Mohammed (pbuh) didn't inform Abu Baker about his and didn`t choose him for the cave

Please read the true narration from the Sunni sources that the Prophet (pbuh) did not choose Abu Baker to to him in the cave. This narration is written in many authentic books. This narration is graded as Sahih Hadith. This is a long narration, nararted by Ibn e Abbas. Ibn e Abbas told many virtues of Imam Ali (as).

This narartion says the Prophet (pbuh) selected Imam Ali (as) to sleep on his bed while the pagans of Mecca surrounded him and they were throwing the arrow on him. Abu Baker cam there, Abu Baker thought Prophet is sleeping, Abu Baker called O Messenger of Allah, Imam Ali replied, he left toward well called well of Maimona, check him there, Abu Baker went there, then they went into the cave.

It is a long narartion, there is another intersting part. When the Prophet left for Tabuk. The Prophet told Imam Ali, it is not right for me to leave except making you my Caliph.

This true narration proves many things but we would like to highlight three things.

1- The Prophet slected Imam Ali (as) to make him his representative in Makkah in his absence. The Prophet handed over all the tasks to Imam Ali (as) related to Mecca. We can imagine how bravery of son of Abu Talib who put his life at risk and slept under the shadow of swords and arrows without any fear. The Prophet (pbuh)  had so much confidence on Imam Ali (as) that he won`t get scared from the pagans of Mecca and he is capable to talk to them face to face, he is capable to handle to the situation, he is capable to fullfill all the task for the Prophet. The pagans of Mecca won`t have courage to atatck on Ali, because they know very well about the bravery of son of Abu Talib.

2-  The Prophet did not inform Abu Baker about his migration and did not choose Abu Baker to take him in the cave. We don`t want say here that Abu Baker was not Muslim, or he was the agent of Meccans. But is was a safety measure not to let Abu Baker go back to Mecca.

3- There is another imporatnt part in the Hadith. The Prophet said, it is not right for me to leave for Tabuk except making you my Caliph.

The Prophet didn`t leave for Tabuk except making his Caliph. How come the Prophet left forever and didn`t make anyone Caliph?

Sunni fellows make many stories and try to twist the verse about the cave story which is mentioned in Holy Quran. Please read the short commentory.

Quran (9:40).

“If you do not aid the Prophet - Allah has already aided him when those who disbelieved had driven him out [of Makah] as one of two, when they were in the cave and he said to his companion, "Do not grieve; indeed Allah is with us." And Allah sent down his tranquility upon him and supported him with angels you did not see and made the word of those who disbelieved the lowest, while the word of Allah - that is the highest. And Allah is exalted in Might and Wise.”

In this verse we can see that Allah(swt) mentioned the word Prophet and assured to the person that Allah(swt) is with them. We can also see in the wording of the verse that Allah(swt) referred to the Holy Prophet alone that He sent down His tranquility upon him and supported him with angels. He(swt) did not send peace and tranquility to the other person who was with the Prophet. That’s why singular possessive pronoun is used not plural.

Let us look at the holy verse 26 in same Surah, Allah(swt) specifically mentioned that He sent his tranquility both on the Prophet and momineen. Allah(swt) mentioned the true believers along with the holy Prophet. (Quran 9:26)

“Then Allah sent down His tranquility upon His Messenger and upon the believers and sent down soldiers angels whom you did not see and punished those who disbelieved. And that is the recompense of the disbelievers.”

We find a narration in Bukhari that Haqzrat Ayesha said ``there is nothing revealed about us except clearance of blame which was made by some companions upon me``.

While on the other hand Imam Ali slept on the bed of the Prophet and faced all the dangers and looked eyes to eyes with the pagans. On those moment while Imam Ali was sleeping on the bed of the Prophet and pagans was surrounding the house of the Prophet this verse was revealed about Imam Ali.(Quran 2:207)

“And of the people is he who sells himself, seeking means to the approval of Allah. And Allah is kind to [His] servants.”

As we already mentioned the story of Ubaidullah bin Jaahash in our previous article, Ubaidullah bin Jahash was the cousin of the Prophet who accepted Islam earlier in Mecca. He migrated to Africa with the first group of immigrants of Islam. He became immigrant earlier than those companions who migrated to Medina. There he became apostate and left Islam, converted to Christianity. This story is proven between Sunni and Shia. Please check the link.

Please read the Hadith from Al-MUSTADRAK ALASSAHIHAIN , THIS IS TRUE HADITH.

Yahya bin Owaf narrated:

    • I was sitting with Abdullah ibn e Abbas nine people approached him, they said to ibn Abbas that he(ibn Abbas) have to decide either he(ibn Abbas)  are with them or not with them. By that time Ibn e Abbas was a healthy man, he did not lose his eye sight yet, Ibn e Abbas stood up with them and discussed something with them.

The narrator says I don’t know what they discussed. When Ibn e Abbas came back, he was throwing away the dust from his clothes and said

“I hate and feel sorry on these people they say bad things about that person who is a respected person, they think bad about that person for whom The Holy Prophet said (at the day of Khaiber) tomorrow I will send that person who loves Allah and his Prophet and Allah and his Prophet love him. Allah won’t let him be disrespected, he is honored one”,

The Prophet said ``where Ali is?`` The Prophet was told he is making flour for him with hand-mill.

The Prophet said “was there nobody who would do this work for him!”

Then Holy Prophet called him (Ali) while he was having pain in his eyes, he was having difficulty of seeing.

The holy Prophet put his saliva on his eyes, waved the flag for three times and gave to Ali. Then Saffiyya bint e Hayee was brought to the Prophet (after victory of Khaiber).

Then Abu Bakar was sent with Surah Touba, Ali was sent after him to take away that job from Abu Bakar, the Prophet said:

“nobody can do this job except me or a person from my Ahlalbait. He (Ali) is from me and I am from him.``

Then the Prophet gathered Ali, Fatima, Hassan and Hussein with him under the cloth and prayed for them:

``O Allah these are my Ahlalbait my closest one, take away any uncleanliness from them completely and purify them completely.``

Ali is the one who announced his Islam after Khadija (mother of believers). Ali is the one who was dressed with the Prophet’s clothes (at the time of migration);

The people thought that this is the Prophet. Meanwhile Abu Bakar came and said ``O Holy Prophet``; Ali replied ``he is not here he is at the wheel named Maimoon.``

Then Abu Bakar joined the Holy Prophet and went in to cave; the pagans of Mecca were around Ali (with their swords and arrows) until dawn. When The Holy Prophet wanted to leave for Tabuk with his companions, Ali said to Holy Prophet “I want to join with you”,

The Prophet said: ``No, do not cry on this, are you not happy that you are to me as Aaron to Moses; the only difference is there is no Prophet after me.``Then Holy Prophet said ``you are my KHALIFA (successor) after me for all the believers.``

The Prophet ordered to close all the doors opening to the mosque of the Prophet in Medina except Ali’s house door, only Ali was allowed to enter in the mosque while he was Mojannab (see the definition of Mojannab at the end), this is his only way out from home, there was no other way going out from the home.

Then Holy Prophet said; ``anybody who consider me as Wali (person having authority over someone) Ali is also his Wali.``

Ibn e Abbas said

We read in Quran that Allah happy with those who were under the tree at the time of Hudaibiya then we never heard that Allah got angry on them.

Then Ibn e Abbas said:

``The Holy Prophet said to Umar bin Khattab when he asked permission from the Holy Prophet that he wanted to behead a companion named Hatib,``

The Holy Prophet said:

``O Umar do you not know that Allah is the knower about the companions of Badar, for this reason it was said to them do whatever you want, you are forgiven.”

(Mojannab is condition when someone has sex with his wife, both man and woman cannot pray, fast, enter in the mosque until they take shower according to the Islamic ruling, But Ali was exempted, and Ali was given permission to enter in the mosque and his home door was opened all other doors were closed, the companions objected on this, The Prophet said I allowed this all because Allah ordered me to do so.)
